Eye sketch and drawings

Sorry I've been gone for so long, holdiays and the cold have taken up a bit of my time to post anything. Here are two drawings with the same theme. I've been working with this idea of as an artist, I spend most of my waking hours conscientiously observing and studying things, to log into my brain as reference for my art.This might also harken back to to the days of my you when I was completely obsessed with the artist Pushead who did a lot of work for Metallica and was was exteremly good at drawing cool looking eyes and skulls.

The first piece is just a colored pencil drawing done in my sketchbook and the second is a detail of a 2 1/2x5' drawing pen and ink drawing I'm working on (sorry the photos is not the great).

   

 

All Eyes No Mouth

started a new drawing, coming out of an artist block i've been in the last couple of days... it always feels good to draw big. This one is a take on the last painting, different idea though.

-ink wash on gessoed vellum, 2 1/2x 5'.

Inspired by a great video clip called Skatistan. Kids in Kabul learning to skate and opening a skate park.  might do some more images off this.

Inked that drawing of Manji from the comic Blade of the Immortal.  In the process of coloring it.

new sketchbook for The showdown

I know the graphic novel isn't even close to done, but i wanted to get some of the drawings out there. I'll be down at A.P.E. in San Francisco tomorrow (10/16) selling some books and this sketchbook. You can find me by the Eidolon Fine Arts booth or at Allen Speigel Fine Arts.

this is the DeatH art book that i will be selling a few of. Once this print run is done, i'm not printing any more of this kind.
